What is Keto?
First things first, what even is keto? Keto is short for ketosis and it's a metabolic state in which most of the body's energy supply comes from ketones. So what are ketones? They're chemicals made in your liver. Your body produces them when you don't have enough of the hormone insulin in your body to turn sugar into energy. You still need a source of energy, so your body uses fat instead. A Keto diet and lifestyle takes advantage of this process by manipulating the body into burning fat.

1. Break down your meals into 5% carb, 25% protein, and 70% fat.
2. Aim for 35 grams of fiber per day.
3. Keep high-fat snacks accessible, such as nuts, seeds, cheeses, avocado, raw cacao nibs, and nut butter.
